Why Join Olympia Prep?

Finding the right test prep is challenging and something you’ve probably never had to look for before.  So how are you supposed to know the good from the bad?  Perhaps you’ve heard conflicting things from friends about different programs and you need help sorting through the muck.

We had the exact same issue when we were high school students looking for the right help.  We created Olympia Prep’s programs to address these very questions and the uncertainty we faced ourselves.  As you consider where to prep, we recommend asking the questions below everywhere you consider.

We’ve included our answers if you click on the questions below.  If you like our philosophy, our answers, please join our prep family!  If you find a program elsewhere that has answers you like more than ours, we urge you to go with that program.  But either way, we think these are the important questions to ask no matter where you go!

Questions to ask here and everywhere you look:
(click a question below to see our answer)

“Will this get results for me?  What are your results and what do you guarantee?”

“Every PSAT/SAT/ACT prep program seems very confident but you can’t predict the future.  What are you going to do if my score doesn’t go up after my first try?  What’s your plan B just in case we need a different approach?”

“Do I get private attention?  I think my needs are a bit different from the average student’s.”

“Do you give timed and proctored PSAT/SAT/ACT practice exams?  Are they real PAST/SAT/ACT tests or your own approximation of an SAT Test?”

“What’s your curriculum based upon?  Can I just get the same thing from a book or a cheaper program?”

“What are your PSAT/SAT/ACT prep instructor’s qualifications?  Why is this instructor the right person to teach my student?”

Why Prep for the PSAT at all?

Perhaps you’re unsure about this whole process in general.  Why is everyone preparing for the PSAT?  Is that necessary if you’re already planning to take the SAT or ACT later?  Yes, preparing for the PSAT is important and a good choice for many for two main reasons.  First, mostly the same skills and content will be tested on the ACT and SAT, so your early preparation on the PSAT will pay off multiple times.  Second, this is the only way your student can become a National Merit Scholar, the most prestigious award a high school student can earn to help with scholarships and admissions.

If you have the opportunity to prepare for the PSAT before your student takes it as a Junior in high school, it can be one of the best opportunities to impact their future!  We hope to help make it a reality for you and your family soon.
